Leaving Home/Coming Home tells the story of my mother’s experience the day she immigrated to the United States. With the current administration eager to curb both immigration and the entering of people from Muslim/Arab nations into our country, I feel like it’s the right time to tell this intensely personal story. The story also means quite a lot to me for the literal impact it’s had on my life and my very existence.
